Rev. Gabrielle Chavez, Sabbatical Pastor
Rev. Gabrielle Fackre Chavez, an ordained minister in the UCC, is a lifelong student of theology, biology, and spiritual healing. Her career has been both “in the church” as a trained interim pastor for over 30 years, and also alongside the restless souls and spiritual adventurers “not of the church.” Since 1996, as the founding pastor of Christ the Healer UCC in Portland, Oregon, she has explored and utilized many expressions of spiritual and energy healing. A gardener, herbalist, wild foods expert, and raw vegan chef, Gabrielle has a special affinity for God's plant kingdom, creating and using flower and mushroom essences for healing. Author of The Raw Food Gourmet and Alive in Grace— Recipes for Vitality, Value, and Peace, Gabrielle's aspiration is to wholeness through the embodiment of Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, making the practice of loving relationships and community her core spiritual discipline. For the last ten years she has been developing and teaching courses for a Christ Path Mystery School integrating Christian theology, interspirituality, and neuroscience as three different languages for the disciplines of personal and planetary transformation.
